Inventory Planner Job Description


  • Analyse sales trends and historical data to forecast demand for products.
  • Order inventory from suppliers and ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Monitor inventory levels and adjust orders to prevent stock-outs or overstocking.
  • Develop and maintain inventory reports and other relevant documentation.
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to ensure inventory levels meet demand.
  • Continuously review and improve inventory management processes to optimize business performance.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Planner or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management best practices, including forecasting demand, ordering inventory, and managing inventory levels.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
  • Experience with inventory management software, such as SAP or Oracle, is preferred.
